Recently, the Michigan Wolverines haven’t looked like the team that dominated the competition earlier in the 2016 season. Jim Harbaugh’s team scuffled offensively during a road loss to Iowa and, the following week, the Wolverines were forced to scratch and claw in a win over Indiana in the absence of starting quarterback Wilton Speight.

However, don’t look for Michigan to go quietly into the night as the underdog against Ohio State, as do-it-all superstar Jabrill Peppers let the world know this week that the Wolverines aren’t going to be holding anything back schematically.

Peppers, who remains a fringe Heisman Trophy candidate, has taken a step back offensively in recent weeks, theoretically in preparation to unleash against the Buckeyes. The notion that “everything’s coming out of the bag” could point to Peppers at quarterback in some sub-packages, and the Wolverines have been very creative in using formations and gimmicks to generate yardage in chunks this season.

Ohio State is one of the best defensive teams in the country and one of the only squads in the land that can match Michigan’s talent on a position-by-position basis. As such, the Maize and Blue might have to get creative to make up for question marks at quarterback, and they appear poised to do just that.
