NFL legend calls out Nick Saban over "shameful" salary

He does make a lot of money.

Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw was a guest on the Paul Finebaum Show on Monday, and he made some bold statements regarding Alabama coach Nick Saban.

Bradshaw engaged in a debate with famous Finebaum caller Phyllis, and he claimed it is "shameful" that Saban is set to make over $11 million next season.

"I understand Saban, that's your coach," Bradshaw said. "What's he making, $12 million now? That is the entire athletic budget at Louisiana Tech. The entire budget. That's shameful! Shameful!"

Phyllis told Bradshaw that Saban earned that salary, and she actually has a point.

Here's the whole debate between the two:

Comparing Saban's salary to Louisiana Tech's athletic budget is a bit misguided. Alabama brings in far more revenue than Louisiana Tech, which is Bradshaw's alma mater. The two aren't even comparable.

The argument could probably be made that Saban is underpaid given how much success he's had at Alabama. Winning four national titles in a decade is probably worth $11 million.

The salary might seem outrageous on the surface, but what's more surprising is Phyllis beating Bradshaw in a debate. Who would've predicted that?
