Former Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis has reportedly taken on a new job

Charlie Weis has a new gig.

Charlie Weis has been out of the coaching game for more than four years and, well, the end of his career on the sidelines didn't go particularly well. The now 61-year-old was hired as the head coach at Notre Dame prior to the 2005 season and, while things were just fine in his first two seasons in South Bend, it went downhill in a hurry.

Since then, Weis spent time on the sidelines for the Kansas City Chiefs and Florida Gators as the offensive coordinator before a three-year (failed) stint as the head coach at Kansas. During that tenure, Weis led the Jayhawks to a dismal 6-22 record and that was enough to seemingly push him out of the profession for a while.

Now, though, Weis is back working in football, as he will reportedly join SiriusXM radio as an analyst on the NFL beginning this week.

Weis' best work came at the professional level as the OC in New England and, alongside Tom Brady, he accomplished quite a bit. Since then, his reputation has (obviously) taken a hit but there is quite a bit of football knowledge there and the good folks that listen to SiriusXM will now be able to access it once a week at the very least.
