One college coach on the hot seat may have his eyes on the NFL, according to Bleacher Report

Well this would be interesting.

If one coach on the hot seat wants to bolt before his team fires him, he might have some opportunities in the NFL.

Bleacher Report published an article on Tuesday speculating which college head coach could be the next to jump ship to the NFL, and it looks like they easily came to one name: Notre Dame's Brian Kelly.

From Bleacher Report:

The best candidate to leave for an NFL job this offseason? Notre Dame's Brian Kelly. He and the Fighting Irish are suffering through an ugly season; a preseason Top 10 ranking has turned into a 3-6 record following Saturday's 28-27 loss to Navy, and the Irish must beat Army, Virginia Tech and Southern California just to make a low-level bowl game.

There has been speculation that Kelly could be fired from Notre Dame, with his biggest saving grace being the enormous contract extension he and Notre Dame agreed to earlier in the year. However, relations have soured in South Bend, as Kelly's attitude — combined with the poor record this season — have left a lot to be desired for the Fighting Irish.

One of the things that may be keeping Kelly from jumping to the NFL, though, is his lack of experience. Kelly has over 20 years of college coaching experience, but he has never been a coach in the NFL, not even at a position level.

Will Kelly leave? That is left to be seen, but unless things turn around quickly for him at Notre Dame, we definitely could see him either bolt for another job or facing a firing from one of the most prestigious schools in college football.
