Nick Saban has been surpassed as the highest-paid college football coach for next season

Wow!!!

Kevin Sumlin has a new job and it will apparently make him the highest-paid coach in college football history.

Sumlin, who agreed to become Arizona's next head coach on Sunday, reportedly will still be owed an additional $10.4 million from Texas A&M, along with the $2 million annual salary he will be paid by the Wildcats, which will total $12.4 million in compensation during the 2018 season, surpassing Nick Saban's $11.5 million salary this past seaosn, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.

Sumlin signed to a five-year, $14.5 million contact with Arizona earlier this week, according to Sports Illustrated's Bruce Feldman.

Though Sumlin technically holds the title of highest-paid coach by a technicality, it could provide Saban with more reason to restructure his contract, especially with Alabama coming off yet another national championship victory.

But until then, Sumlin will be making a larger annual salary than any coach in the history of college football, despite taking a pay cut from his previous $5 million salary at A&M.
