Paul Finebaum thinks one surprise school is in 'great' position to make the College Football Playoff

This seems like a stretch.

There are some clear College Football Playoff contenders right now in Alabama, Clemson, Penn State, Washington, Wisconsin and Georgia. However, ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum believes there is one team with a single loss that is in "great" position to make it to the CFP.

Here's what he said on SportsCenter on Sunday morning per 247Sports:

"Notre Dame has a great loss against Georgia and they have the schedule in front of them," Finebaum said. . "Now, the schedule is brutal. Do I think they'll get through that? No, but they're in position (to play they're way in) with a loss."

The Fighting Irish still have games against USC, N.C. State, Wake Forest and Navy at home while they have to travel to Miami and Stanford as well. Finebaum is probably right that they won't last through that brutal schedule, but if they do they definitely have to be considered among other one-loss teams should it come to that.
