It was the college football equivalent of a “where were you when” moment. Where were you when South Carolina’s Jadeveon Clowney erased Michigan’s Vincent Smith in the New Year’s Day 2013 Outback Bowl.
Like just about every other college football fan, I was glued to the television set, beverage and snack firmly in hand. But when Clowney unleashed one of the most violent hits I’d ever witnessed on a college football field, that beverage and that snack fell to the floor, and so did my jaw.
Clowney took home an ESPY for the year’s best play, and now that he’s in the NFL and likely soon to be taking the field again for the Texans, we can only hope and pray for more highlights like this one.
Hold on to your snack.
