Cal fired head coach Sonny Dykes on Sunday, leaving a lot of speculation that they may already have a popular name in mind to fill the position. Mason, a former Stanford assistant originally hired by Jim Harbaugh, has been the head coach at Vanderbilt for three seasons. He is 13-24 in those three seasons, but he did show some progress this year with a 6-7 showing.
