After “shocking” coaching turnover, No. 2 athlete Xavier Williams weighs in on Alabama commitment

He still has other schools coming at him, hard

Like a number of people, Alabama early recruit Xavier Williams was "shocked" at the recent coaching turnover at the Crimson Tide. Two assistants instrumental in his recruitment — Mario Cristobal (Oregon) and Billy Napier (Arizona State) — have left for offensive coordinator positions elsewhere; and the Tide has lost two offensive coordinators (Lane Kiffin to FAU as head coach, Steve Sarkisian to the Atlanta Falcons as offensive coordinator) in a matter of weeks.

But that doesn't mean he's wavered.

Yes, schools including Miami, Florida, Clemson and Ole Miss are coming after him hard in hopes he flips. But, in an interview with Scout.com, he had a very  clear message for Tide fans:

"I've made a pledge and I'm sticking to it. I'm 100% committed," he said.

There's a long way to go in the recruiting process, but he sounds certain.

The 6'1, 190 pounder is the No. 2  receiver in the state of Florida, according to 247 Sports, and is a hard commitment to Alabama.
