USA Today columnist doesn't have Alabama as his No. 1 or 2 team in the country

Dan Wolken is really feeling it on this one.

Most people predicting the College Football Playoff at this point of time would probably have Clemson, Alabama, TCU and either Georgia or Washington in some variation of that order. However, USA Today columnist Dan Wolken took it a step further and placed Georgia and Clemson ahead of Alabama in his rankings:

While a solid argument can be made for Clemson to be ranked as the top team is there —- three top-15 wins and domination of lesser teams —- to put Georgia ahead of Alabama is absolutely ludicrous at this point. Georgia has some nice wins and some impressive ones, but they haven't been the same kind of dominant team that the Crimson Tide have been.

Yes, Georgia beat an SEC West team badly in Mississippi State, but those Dawgs aren't as good as people believed and beating up on Vanderbilt and Tennessee isn't exactly the stuff of major resume boosters. Their best win is at Notre Dame by one point and the Fighting Irish are good, but that could have been a fluke. Meanwhile, Alabama has demolished everyone they have played with the exception of a desperate Texas A&M team and they've played a tougher schedule up to this point in the season.

This is all going to change each week anyway, but Wolken is clearly not thinking straight and is just trolling Alabama fans here. And we'll find out exactly how good Georgia is when they eventually meet Alabama in Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game.
