Five-star DB and RB Jaylen McCollough says title contender "is one of my top schools"

This will make one school want to go after him harder.

Jaylen McCollough is going to be one of the more popular names and one of the top tier recruits once schools are heavily recruiting the class of 2019. He's already ranked as a five-star recruit by the 247Sports Composite Rankings and has had several schools get on him early. However, there's one he decided to talk about with Scout after the NFA 7v7 National Championships.

"You know 'Bama is one of my top schools" McCollough said. "I talked to (defensive backs) coach (Derrick) Ansley and (offensive line) coach (Brent) Key before I came up here at IMG, had a good conversation with them."

He also said he would be back at camp in Tuscaloosa next month. The 6'1", 190-pound safety also plays running back, but most schools want him playing in the defensive backfield he told Scout. It may also be worth noting that he was rocking gloves with the script "A" on them during the tournament.

McCollough is ranked as the No. 2 safety in the class and No. 4 player in the state of Georgia —- he's from Powder Springs —- by the composite rankings. He also holds offers from Florida State, Florida, Georgia, Louisville, Michigan and plenty of others. Right now all 10 predictions made in the 247Sports crystal ball have him going to FSU, but Alabama might be making some headway.

Here are some of his highlights:
