Four-star QB Dakereon Joyner has eliminated one major school from his recruitment

This is a bit surprising.

Dakereon Joyner is one of the more intriguing quarterback prospects in the Class of 2018 and, as you may expect, that means he receives a great deal of interest from the top programs in the country. With that as the backdrop, Joyner updated his top five list earlier this week and one interesting program vanished from the group of his top choices.

Joyner, who hails from Fort Dorchester High School in North Charleston (S.C.), had been seen as a possibility for in-state power Clemson but that does not appear to be the case any longer. Still, it isn't as if Joyner has a lack of interest from programs close to home, with South Carolina, NC State and Georgia being included in his top five.

Furthermore, the 6'2, 200-pound quarterback now boasts offers from Alabama and Oregon and that should help to illustrate what kind of talent he projects at the next level. It is probably too early to speculate as to where Joyner will ultimately land when he makes his commitment and subsequently signs later in the process. What we do know, however, is that Dakereon Joyner will probably not be heading to Clemson to join Dabo Swinney and the reigning National Champions.
