Four-star DE Nathan Pickering has a trio of SEC powers standing out

He knows what conference he wants to play in, that's for sure.

Four-star defensive Nathan Pickering has some time before he has to make any sort of commitment in his recruitment. However, he has already dropped a top five list and now he has a trio of schools standing out to him as he told 247Sports.

"'Bama, LSU and Florida," he said.

However, he did say that he would possibly release another top five list since he had Mississippi State on his original and now a lot of that staff is at Florida. He mentioned that he is a huge fan of coach Dan Mullen and that he's going to make sure Florida is one of his top schools.

"I love State, I really love coach (Dan) Mullen," he said. "I love the way he is, I'm going to make sure Florida is one of my top schools. Plus, it's a great team, they have a lot of tradition over there.

"It's a possibility they may be on top."

The 6-foot-5, 270-pound defensive end out of Mississippi is the No. 4 strong side defensive end and No. 2 recruit in the state according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He also has offers from Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Florida State and Georgia among others.

Here are some of his highlights:
