The AP Poll and Coaches Poll are out and Alabama is at the top of both. The Crimson Tide have been dominant in most of their wins with the only tough game coming against LSU, which was a 10-0 win for Bama.

The Crimson Tide will likely be at the top of the CFP Rankings on Tuesday as well, but there is one poll they aren't at the top of this week. That's the S&P Rankings by the Football Outsiders, which has them as the No. 2 team behind Michigan.
When creating these rankings, here is what Football Outsiders considers:
"The components for S&P+ reflect opponent-adjusted components of four of what Bill Connelly has deemed the Five Factors of college football: efficiency, explosiveness, field position, and finishing drives. (A fifth factor, turnovers, is informed marginally by sack rates, the only quality-based statistic that has a consistent relationship with turnover margins.)"
The Michigan defense has been pretty great and one of the best in the country, if not the overall best so there's an advantage as well.

So make your own judgments about how good or bad the SEC is, but some of the teams look much more favorable in these rankings than they would in the AP or Coaches Poll.
