Kirk Herbstreit knows the key to Auburn's success this year

There are some high expectations being floated around this team.

Everyone's favorite GameDay analyst Kirk Herbstreit was taking questions on Sunday and got one about how Auburn might fare this season considering all of the turnover and that the Tigers have no real answer at quarterback. He thinks that JUCO transfer and former FSU scout teamer John Franklin III will not only start, but have to be the reason why Auburn succeeds.

Bovada has the over/under for Auburn's win total at 6.5 wins. Getting eight wins would be huge for this team with so many questions at the most important position on offense. Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee is just hoping that Franklin III can meet those expectations and was even hoping to lower them.

Meanwhile, Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn has yet to name the starter at the position. Sean White, Jeremy Johnson and Franklin are all battling for the QB position heading into the first game of the season against Clemson. But if Herbstreit thinks the transfer can break out and take over the starting spot then maybe we should listen up considering Herbstreit is a former QB himself.
