Four-star son of Auburn legend announces his commitment

He's made a decision!

The recruiting process has been quite interesting for talented 2019 quarterback process Bo Nix. As of mid-December, the junior from Pinson Valley (Ala.) had a firm top three that included Ohio State, Clemson and Auburn. On Wednesday, however, the son of former Auburn quarterback Patrick Nix released a video to announce his collegiate plan and, in the end, the winner of the sweepstakes was Gus Malzahn and the Auburn Tigers.

Because Nix is a "legacy" on the Plains, this is not overly surprising but Auburn will be picking up a potentially important recruit.

The dual-threat quarterback stands at 6'2 and 194 pounds and he was instrumental in leading his high school club to the Class 6A state championship with an undefeated season. At the moment, Nix ranks as the No. 57 overall recruit according to the 247Sports composite and that is good enough to land him as the No. 3 overall player from the state of Alabama.

In Malzahn's offense, Nix appears to be a great fit, as he has routinely showcased athletic ability to be able to engineer the running game and a big-time arm that helps to make him an elite prospect. His enrollment in Auburn may seem like a long way from now but there is real excitement among Tigers fans for this news and, frankly, it is tough to blame them.
