Florida reportedly making huge coaching changes after hiring new head coach

This doesn't bode well for current Gator coaches.

Florida has hired Dan Mullen as its next head coach and it looks like he is going to make some big changes with the rest of the coaching staff. According to SEC Country, five coaches are longer part of the team.

They are reporting that Randy Shannon, Doug Nussmeier and assistant coaches Robb Akey, Corey Bell, Kerry Dixon II and Greg Nord have been let go. Meanwhile, Brad Davis, Chris Rumph, Tim Skipper and Ja'Juan Seider are still on the staff as of now. They are on the recruiting trail this week and their roles are still to be determined with no timetable set for those decisions.

Since there is no bowl game to prepare for, Mullen will be able to get his staff together as soon as possible and get on the recruiting trail before the early signing period in December. It would appear that he already has two coaches from Mississippi State coming over to join him though in Billy Gonzales and John Hevesy:

And SEC Country confirmed that they were apart of the staff already. There are talks of bringing his former defensive coordinator Todd Grantham over as well, but he is also in contention to be the new head coach at Mississippi State.
