Georgia reportedly adds first-time opponent to future schedule

The Bulldogs will play this non-conference opponent for the first time.

Georgia reportedly added San Jose State to its 2021 football schedule on Friday, according to Macon.com.

San Jose State athletic director Marie Tuite confirmed that a contract was signed between the two programs, as well as several other non-conference matchups for the Trojans, which were all announced on Friday.

The agreement marks the first meeting ever between the two schools in football.

The Bulldogs' non-conference schedule also includes games against UAB and Georgia Tech, the team's annual "Rivalry Week" matchup.

Georgia was undefeated in non-conference games this season, defeating Appalachian State (31-10), Notre Dame (20-19), Samford (42-14) and Georgia Tech (38-7).

The Bulldogs will face No. 2 Auburn in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday, which will be a rematch of the Dawgs' only loss of the 2017 season.
