LSU’s contest against Alabama is expected to be a heated one, with a possible trip to the SEC Championship game and the College Football Playoffs on the line.

Friday night, a pair of Alabama fans took things a bit far, reportedly breaking into Tiger Stadium and defacing the logo at midfield.

Here’s more, via SEC Country, from ESPN’s Marty Smith:

“I was in here earlier this morning doing some reporting for SportsCenter, and we noticed there was a slash right through the middle of the eye of the tiger at midfield,” Smith said on the show. “I started talking to the grounds crew, and they informed me that a couple guys jumped the fence, came out here on the field and defaced midfield. So then we started digging. We just got the police report and learned it’s a pair of Alabama students from Maryland. So tonight just got a little bit more fun.”

After all the talk of “dominating” Alabama, interim coach Ed Orgeron’s bunch and the Tide haven’t jabbed much in the media.

This one was already expected to be a slugfest, and LSU has even more incentive after fans disrespected their sacred logo.
