Top recruit in the country could "see himself" playing for one team back on the rise

This should turn into a fun recruitment.

Kayvon Thibodeaux is the top recruit in the country for the class of 2019 according to 247Sports and it looks like he had quite a good time on an impromptu trip to Baton Rouge. He told 247Sports that the Tigers are one of the programs recruiting him the hardest and it looks like that might be paying off already.

The Thousand Oaks, Calif. native said that the different atmosphere was enjoyable and gave the LSU staff some ammo to work with on the recruiting trail.

"It was different than California and what I'm used to," said Thibodeaux. "It was a different area, different weather. It was good to get out and see something else. I could see myself playing there."

While he didn't get to meet with too many people, he was still excited to get on campus and watch some other guys like Derrius Guice and Kevin Tolliver II get in some practice. He also mentioned that he intends to take a ton of trips before he enrolls early after his senior season.

"I need to go to the midwest and northeast," said Thibodeaux. "I need to go to Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, that whole area. I need to go back down south. LSU, Miami, Alabama. I need to see Washington and Cal. I need to see Texas, Oklahoma, schools around there. There's a bunch I need to see still."

The 6'5", 235-pound weak side defensive end has over 25 offers including some from Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Florida State and Miami among others. He got his ranking by recording 27 tackles for loss and 17 sacks in his sophomore season. He has six predictions made for USC in the 247Sports crystal ball while LSU has one prediction.
