Kentucky AD responds after offensive sign emerges ahead of Florida game

Good for him.

The Kentucky Wildcats take on the Florida Gators this weekend and the team from Lexington will be looking to break a bizarre streak of losses to the team from Gainesville. However, there is real optimism that Kentucky could actually pick up a victory this weekend and folks are excited about that possibility given Florida's early struggles.

With that said, a wildly offensive fan sign emerged in advance of the game and, frankly, it was disturbing.

Former Florida safety Ahmad Black uncovered the offensive sign from a Snapchat account and it was immediately a viral image in the worst possible way. Now, Kentucky AD Mitch Barnhart has responded on his Twitter account and, thankfully, he dismissed the image in favor of respect.

An insensitive and offensive sign has been making the rounds online this week. I want to be clear: That's not us.

We will show the respect and care due our opponents and those affected by natural disasters.

As we've planned all week, we'll accept donations at concession stands for UK's Emergency Assistance & Relief Fund. Please be generous.

You have to assume that this is one rogue fan and the vast majority of Kentucky fans would never support the fan sign that emerged. Barnhart does a good job in speaking to that and hopefully there won't be any sort of rebound for the sentiment on Saturday.
