Massive 6'4" four-star DT reportedly down to two schools

Quite the choices here.

Phidarian Mathis is a four-star defensive tackle out of Monroe, La. and his recruitment is reportedly down to two schools. The 6'4", 287-pound tackle is deciding between the hometown LSU Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide. Mathis detailed when he'll be taking official visits leading up to February's National Signing Day:

"I'll be taking my official visit Jan. 13. LSU is always talking to me, calling me, making sure we're staying up on things together. I really like how things have changed with Coach O. The program has more energy and guys love playing for him and that's what I like.

"I'll be taking my official [Alabama] visit Jan. 20. It's a big defense, they're like a train once they get rolling. They have a lot of great players. I think I would fit in well in their defense. We will see how things go on that visit."

Mathis is considered the No. 7 recruit in the state of Louisiana and No. 11 defensive tackle in the country according to 247Sports. He is considered a heavy LSU lean right now, but also had offers from Arkansas, Georgia, Miami and Oklahoma among many others.

Here are some of his highlights:
