Power Five school just picked up a conference Freshman of the Year with latest transfer

A nice pick up for one school.

Jaylan Foster had a pretty nice year playing FCS football at Gardner Webb. The 6'0", 190-pound athlete played mostly on the defensive side of the ball recording 45 total tackles, including 2.5 for loss, five interceptions and two fumble recoveries in his freshman season. That has spurred him to transfer up a level of football:

Foster is from Duncan, S.C. so the transfer makes a lot of sense for him as that's pretty close to the school and will allow him to stay close to his family while playing at the FBS level. Since he's not transferring from a junior college, Foster will have to sit a year, but will have three years of eligibility remaining after he sits out the 2017 season.
