South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier called a press conference on Wednesday to reaffirm his commitment to the university and team. He got started by calling out his “enemies” who would use his age against him.

Spurrier made it clear that he is not on the descent and is still very sharp both physically and mentally.

He called one team out in particular and he says this year’s team should be good.

Spurrier is also tired of Clemson guys trying to talk trash, especially young quarterbacks.

He’s not too upset though because now he thinks there’s a rivalry again after USC had won the previous five in a row before 2014. This was a pressing time to make this announcement because he does have recruits in this weekend and expects something to come of it too.

But Spurrier knows by now that you either die (or retire) a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

And of course the Head Ball Coach is already looking forward to the first game of the season.

That game is set for Thursday September 3rd. Hopefull the Gamecocks can win more than seven games so Spurrier doesn’t have to call for any more angry press conferences.
