Tennessee legend lobbies for former teammate as next head coach

One former Tennessee standout is fed up with Butch Jones and wants a former teammate to replace him.

Former Tennessee defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth believes an ex-teammate should be the Vols' next head coach.

Haynesworth tweeted his support for former Tennessee quarterback and current USC offensive coordinator Tee Martin as the successor to Butch Jones, who as of now is still employed by the university.

Haynesworth and Martin were teammates at Tennessee during the lineman's first two seasons in Knoxville.

Martin, who led the Vols to a BCS Championship in 1998, has quickly risen up the ranks as a young assistant with a bright head coaching future. The former QB has flourished as USC's coordinator during the past two seasons while coaching projected No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick Sam Darnold and a talented Trojans offense.

Haynesworth has critiqued Jones and the staff at his alma mater throughout the season, which has included taking personal shots at the coach, as well as the Vols' questionable defensive alignment.

While Jones is still employed, a coaching change seems inevitable. Will the Vols listen to Haynesworth and bring in their former quarterback?
