At 6-foot-3, 230 pounds, Marquez North figures to be an integral part of the Volunteers offense this season, and as such his health will be a top priority for Tennessee. After missing the final two games of 2014 to undergo surgery to repair a torn shoulder labrum, North’s recovery was progressing without complication and he appeared ready and eager to open the season as Tennessee’s top receiver.

However, tragedy seemed to strike in Wednesday’s practice as North went down with what appeared to be a serious, non-contact injury to his left leg.

The initial prognosis feared the injury to be season-ending with an MRI immediately scheduled for Thursday.
