Tennessee defensive player dismissed from team just days after being stretchered off the field

His dismissal reportedly has nothing to do with his injury.

Tennessee defensive lineman Danny O'Brien has been reportedly dismissed from the Volunteers just days after he was stretchered off the field Saturday in a double-overtime loss to the Texas A&M Aggies.

O'Brien's dismissal reportedly doesn't have anything to do with his injury.

O'Brien was stretchered off the field Saturday after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit in the fourth quarter. He was later released from the hospital.

A starting defensive lineman, O'Brien has 63 tackles and four sacks over his career. O'Brien had registered 14 tackles for the season.
