Tennessee defensive lineman Danny O’Brien has been reportedly dismissed from the Volunteers just days after he was stretchered off the field Saturday in a double-overtime loss to the Texas A&M Aggies.

O’Brien’s dismissal reportedly doesn’t have anything to do with his injury.

O’Brien was stretchered off the field Saturday after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit in the fourth quarter. He was later released from the hospital.

A starting defensive lineman, O’Brien has 63 tackles and four sacks over his career. O’Brien had registered 14 tackles for the season.
