Volunteer fans take Butch Jones frustrations to Tennessee’s Rock

Several University of Tennessee students and fans have spoken and they want Butch Jones out as head coach.

Several University of Tennessee students and fans have spoken and they want Butch Jones out as head coach.

One fan tweeted a photo of the school's iconic rock, which included the phrase "FIRE BUTCH NOW!" painted on it on Monday night.

UT's rock has been an outlet for students and organizations to express their opinions and make announcements for decades. However, this is clearly something the athletic department doesn't want to see happen.

In 2012, fans voiced their displeasure of former coach Derek Dooley by painting "Fire Fooley," as well as several of the coach's disappointing blunders on the rock.

The paint was scrubbed off hours later, presumably by a member of the department.

Jones' job status has also become a topic of discussion in UT classrooms. One student tweeted FOX Sports Knoxville's Jon Reed a poll from her economics class in which the majority of students voted that this would be "Butch Jones' last year" as head coach.

Savage.

As an alum, I couldn't be prouder of UT students right now.
