Texas finally announces decision on head coach Charlie Strong

Strong was 16-21 in his career at Texas.

It took a little longer than expected, but Texas has announced that it has fired head coach Charlie Strong.

Strong's career at Texas was essentially over after a 24-21 loss to a previously 1-9 Kansas team last Saturday. Many at Texas had already voiced their displeasure at Strong's tenure, but it appeared the administration was willing to give Strong another season if he finished with a decent 2016.

Losing to Kansas for the first time since 1938 didn't qualify as a "decent finish". Losing 31-9 to TCU on Firday obviously didn't help that cause.

Strong was 16-21 in his career as the Longhorn's head coach.
