Four-star WR Trey Knox pushes back commitment, details other visits

One of the nation's best junior wide receivers plans on extending the time of his college decision.

Four-star wide receiver Trey Knox plans on taking his time while mulling over his college decision.

Knox, a 2019 prospect who originally planned to announce his choice at some point this year, told 247Sports that he's going to continue exploring his options and plans to visit several schools this season.

"I did (think about deciding soon), but then I think I'm going to hold off right now and wait 'til next year, because I've still got to see everything and see what's best for me," Knox said after helping his high school team cruise to a 52-21 win Friday night.

"It was going to happen in September sometime. But I think I'm just going to hold off."

The junior wide receiver has already scheduled visits with Ohio State, Tennessee, Florida and Clemson this season and will travel to Atlanta on Sept. 4 for the Vols' season opener against Georgia Tech.

The Murfreesboro native confirmed that Ohio State still remains his favorite choice with in-state Tennessee second and Florida third. However, he is eager to visit all three schools, as well as Clemson, during the next few months and doesn't want to rush his decision.

Knox revealed that he plans on visiting Ohio State on Sept. 9 for the Buckeyes' game against Oklahoma before visiting Florida the following week for the Gators' game against Tennessee. He also plans on attending the Vols' home game against LSU on Nov. 18, as well as an undetermined Clemson home game early in the upcoming season.
