Saturday evening, Errol Spence Jr. became a champion. He defeated Kell Brook in a multi-round fight that left Brook, who has already had eye issues from previous fights in the past, with a left-eye injury that is one of the more gruesome injuries you will ever see in boxing.
This was a heavily anticipated fight, and it didn’t disappoint. However, Spence Jr. won in memorable fashion after outlasting Brook, repeatedly going after that left eye, and ultimately causing Brook to take a knee.
The victory for Spence Jr. meant that he won the IBF Welterweight World Championship.
Spence Jr. improves to 22-0 in his boxing career, with 19 of those wins coming by KO.
