One of WWE's biggest stars could miss his planned world title match due to injury

Horrible timing.

Braun Strowman has developed into one of WWE's biggest stars in recent months, and, because of that, he figured to play a pivotal role for the company this summer.

However, Strowman needs surgery to repair an undisclosed injury, and it's likely going to keep him out of action for the next month or two.

Via Pro Wrestling Sheet:

"Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned Braun Strowman is scheduled to be out of action following tonight's Raw taping to undergo a minor procedure to fix some issues with his elbow."

"Sources tell us Strowman will be gone four to eight weeks due to the undisclosed injury/surgery, causing creative to re-tool plans for Extreme Rules and Great Balls of Fire."

This is a major blow for Strowman and the company as he was reportedly scheduled to have PPV-closing matches between Roman Reigns and WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at the two PPVs listed above.

Now, WWE is going to have to do some shifting, and it's unclear what they do with Strowman out of action.

Still, Strowman's injury isn't severe, which is good, but he's been on a roll as of late and it should be interesting to see if this blip hurts his momentum going forward.
