Everyone take a minute and pour one out for Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez.

The MLB playoffs opened on Tuesday night, with the Yankees and Twins playing in the AL wild card round. It will be a night that Sanchez may always remember, but not for good reasons, as the catcher took a foul ball right to the groin in the middle of the game.

Oh… that’s going to hurt for a while… and his teammates know it.

For what it’s worth, Sanchez stayed in the game, and he actually got a hit in his next at bat. Not bad considering that most guys probably would have been inconsolable for several days following that, cup or no cup.
