Former coach signs multi-year deal to stay with ESPN amid layoffs.

ESPN has let several prominent reporters and personalities go in recent weeks, but they've just signed NBA analyst and color commentator Mark Jackson to a multi-year extension.

Jackson was a part of ESPN's NBA broadcasts before he was hired by the Golden State Warriors in 2011, and he rejoined the company after he was fired by the Warriors.

Jackson works with Mike Breen and Jeff Van Gundy on NBA broadcasts most often. He had expressed interest in returning to coaching, but it appears as if he is comfortable with his position at ESPN.

ESPN has fired numerous well-known personalities, but the company has at least kept some prominent figures around.
