Front-runner for Cavaliers now-vacant position publicly called out LeBron James just one year ago

We'll see how things play out over the next few weeks.

Just days before the NBA Draft, Cleveland Cavaliers team owner Dan Gilbert may have fired his first warning shots at superstar LeBron James.

As rumors swirl that he could be headed to the West Coast next year, and with one year remaining on his contract with a player option for 2018-19, the Cavaliers parted ways with their general manager, one who James publicly vouched for back in April.

Now, the Cavaliers are apparently targeting former NBA Champion Chauncey Billups, per Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski as the team's next general manager. It could or could not be a coincidence that Billups publicly called out James for the way that he was acting in March of 2016 (as pointed out by the Big Lead) when he unfollowed the Cavaliers and took subtweet shots at teammates Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving.

"The things he's doing right now, to me, are very unprofessional. A little bit immature. It's not the way that you lead. He's the face of the league and the franchise, and it's giving the public and us the opportunity to take his greatness for granted."

The move of Griffin means more than ever the power is in Gilbert's hands, according reports:
