We may already have the weirdest deal of the NBA offseason

This is so bizarre.

J.J. Redick was expected to be one of the more coveted mid-tier free agents this summer and it looks like he is off the board already. However, it comes in the form of a pretty odd deal according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

That is a lot of money to hand out for one year on a guy who is not going to be a star player, but the 76ers can afford to do it and need his shooting abilities to help their skilled big men and forwards create the space they need to operate on offense. This might turn out to be the perfect deal for Philly as it's a great fit and the money is perfect with how the 76ers have constructed their roster in terms of salary.

Here's a good example of how badly Philly needs the shooting as well:

And here's just how great Redick has been as well:

Last season he averaged 15 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.6 made threes a game for the Los Angeles Clippers. He shot about 43 percent from beyond the arc and 44.5 percent from the floor overall.
