Kobe Bryant sheds some light on his future in the NBA

This would be huge.

Since his retirement following the 2015-16 NBA season, Kobe Bryant has mostly stayed out of the spotlight. That may change soon, though, with Magic Johnson now in a position of power with the Los Angeles Lakers along with Jeanie Buss.

Bryant was asked today about what his future with the franchise might entail via the Los Angeles Times' Tania Ganguli:

Bryant's answer is ambiguous, but it does certainly seem like Bryant is open to some sort of consulting role if the new regime contacts him with questions.

Bryant has always had a good understanding of who he is as a person, and he's made it clear in the past that he's not interested in playing an active, daily role for any NBA team anytime soon.

Still, it does seem possible Bryant could be involved with the Lakers in some capacity in the not-too-distant future.
