LaVar Ball could cost his son Lonzo a shot to be drafted by their dream team

Another bad look for the Ball family.

LaVar Ball hasn't minced any words on where he wants his son to be drafted — with the Los Angeles Lakers.

For UCLA star Lonzo Ball, among other issues with his outspoken father, how involved LaVar Ball was during his son's time at school could come back to haunt him.

The latest hint that the Lakers could pass on Lonzo Ball should he fall to them at the No. 2 spot was brought Up Friday morning during a conversation on the Dan Patrick Show with head coach Luke Walton:

When asked if he would check into LaVar Ball's involvement at UCLA in regards to Lonzo Ball, Walton responded:

"I wouldn't personally, but yes, somebody in our organization will, absolutely."

UCLA has plenty invested in the Ball family with two more of LaVar Ball's children expected to attend the school in the coming years, so it's unclear just how much Steve Alford will convey should the Lakers come calling. But as we've seen in the past, pro teams have unique ways of finding the truth.

We'll see in the coming months whether LaVar Ball continues his media tour, or whether he settles more into the background of his famous son. Especially after his disastrous appearance on Fox Sports' The Herd.

How that affects Lonzo Ball's draft stock remains to be seen.
