Former No. 3 pick's "make or break" NFL season gets off to the worst start possible

Blake Bortles was supposed to be "the man" for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was taken in the first round — third overall — in the 2014 draft, and since then, has been a portrait of mediocrity.

For his career, Bortles has led the Jags to to 3-13 (2014) 5-11 (2015) and 3-13 (2016) records. And he has thrown 69 TDS against 51 INTs.

It looks like the interceptions are going to continue as evident by this:

Now maybe this was an aberration. Maybe the light was in his eyes. Maybe the summer bugs were swarming around him. Or maybe, he's just not very good.

It's probably the latter.

Making matters worse, his head coach has already warned that Bortles needs to do better job protecting the football.

Bortles is in some trouble, it seems.
