Coby Fleener took a huge shot during the New Orleans Saints tilt with the Los Angeles Rams, and exited to the sideline momentarily.

Despite the play drawing a defenseless receiver penalty and replays clearly showing helmet-to-helmet contact, Fleener wasn’t put into concussion protocol.

Fleener wasn’t checked for a concussion, according to the broadcast, and he returned to the game only to drop a pass.

He was eventually diagnosed with a concussion.

Someone’s got some explaining to do. With all the precautions in place, there’s no reason this should be a thing any longer.
