Potential Dallas Cowboys starter facing backlash following a Fourth of July arrest

This is a bad look.

Damien Wilson has been in the news before in the midst of strange and unfortunate circumstances. The Dallas Cowboys linebacker was struck with a paintball in eye prior to the 2016 season and, while he did not miss extended time, that is the type of accident that could have been devastating.

This time around, it is a legal issue for the 2015 fourth round draft pick, as Wilson was reportedly arrested on the evening of Independence Day and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

At this time, specifics are sparse with regard to what kind of action prompted the charges but, regardless, this is a bad look for Wilson and the Cowboys.

The young linebacker was a key cog for Dallas during the 2016 season, making six starts, and he has been a rotation member of the linebacking corps since his arrival.

Still, this type of allegation is both troubling and potentially damaging for his professional life and it will be very interesting to see how the case moves from here. Damien Wilson's Fourth of July holiday did not go according to plan and the Cowboys could pay dearly for his actions if things go in the wrong direction.
