Cowboys best scoring option 'expected to miss several weeks' with an injury

Ouch.

The Dallas Cowboys' best scoring option in kicker Dan Bailey is expected to miss several weeks after straining his ground according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Bailey has nailed every kick he's faced this year including seven field goals and 16 extra points. He suffered the injury during Week 8's game against San Francisco and the Cowboys actually had to send in Jeff Heath to kick three extra points who is normally a safety.

Bailey is third all-time in franchise scoring behind the Cowboys behind only Emmitt Smith and Rafael Septien. The Cowboys may be hard pressed to find a kicker they trust as there have been quite a few let go already this year and the new distance on the PATs has proven to be trickier than some kickers believed it would be.
