Former 2nd round pick could be facing a career ban after reportedly failing another drug test

He could be done for good.

Prior to the 2015 NFL Draft, Randy Gregory was one of the hottest prospects available, as the former Nebraska pass rusher profiled as a player who could terrorize opposing offenses off the edge. However, Gregory slipped to the second round, and into the lap of the Dallas Cowboys, as a result of off-field concerns and, since then, things haven't gone well.

Gregory was already suspended for the entire 2017 NFL season as a result of a sixth (!) failed drug test for marijuana and, now, TMZ Sports brings word that his seventh violation reportedly occurred.

TMZ Sports spoke with multiple people with direct knowledge of the situation who confirmed Randy was tested on Feb. 21 and was informed on March 2 that his specimen came up positive for weed.

We're told Gregory has since blown off the NFL officials who tried to discuss the situation with him and people connected to Gregory tell us it appears his NFL career might be over.

It is absolutely mind-blowing that a player would fail seven drug tests in his entire career, much less within his first few seasons, but that is where we are with Gregory. If this proves to be true, Gregory will face a lifetime ban and, even if that was not the case, it would be difficult to see any NFL team being willing to take a chance on him given the background.

Randy Gregory has all of the physical talent in the world but this situation is both bizarre and troubling.
