Former No. 3 overall pick has been cut by the team that drafted him

Is this the end of his career?

The Miami Dolphins are finally moving from the 2013 first-round pick Dion Jordan. The former University of Oregon standout defensive end was released by the team today.

Another interesting wrinkle with the Dolphins' decision is the way they're moving on from Jordan.

Via PFT:

"Per multiple reports, the Dolphins will waive Jordan with the failed physical designation. The defensive end has not played in a regular season game since the 2014 season due to a year-long suspension and a knee injury that kept him out after he was reinstated."

It should be interesting to see if another team takes a flier on Jordan — especially when you consider he's had a combination of issues that have plagued his NFL career thus far. Still, Jordan went No. 3 overall in 2013 for a reason, so maybe a fresh start somewhere else might be just what the former Duck needs to get his career back on track.

Jordan appeared in just 26 games for the Dolphins during his tenure with the team where he record three sacks.
