NFL Insider projects Deshaun Watson to land with one team despite assumed franchise QB in place

Would they really pull that trigger?

The talk of this year's NFL Draft has been the quarterbacks and how none of them might be worth a first-round pick, but they'll still end up going there since teams are in desperate need of them. One of the best quarterbacks in college football last season in Deshaun Watson has been mocked to go almost everywhere in the first round and there are some people who believe he may fall to the second.

However, there's one NFL Insider in CSN Chicago's John Mullins that believes Watson will go as high as No. 3 to the Chicago Bears. Here's what he said on the subject:

Earlier thought was that the Bears might be looking at a safety — LSU's Jamal Adams or Ohio State's Malik Hooker — but the Bears have conducted some of the most exhaustive research and evaluations in recent memory not of one quarterback but multiple quarterback prospects, in particular Notre Dame's DeShone Kizer, Texas Tech's Pat Mahomes and Clemson's Deshaun Watson.

And the expectation here is that Watson will be the Bears' selection.

Three out of four of the NFL.com draft experts have the Bears taking cornerback Marshon Lattimore from Ohio State while the lone holdout has them taking defensive end Solomon Thomas from Stanford. However, their next mock drafts might switch that up if this report from Mullin turns out to be true.
