Peyton Manning had the best response when asked about an NFL comeback

Peyton is clearly enjoying himself.

It appears that Peyton Manning is enjoying the perks of retirement.

In an interview with the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Archie Manning says that Peyton was asked about a potential return last season by Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase.

Gase, Manning's former coordinator in Denver, was dealing with an injury to Miami starter Ryan Tannehill, and he knew the question was going to come at some point on if he had talked to Manning about a return.

Via the Times-Picayune:

"It started with Gase," Archie said while at the annual Manning Passing Academy. "He said, 'Hey 18, Tannehill went down.' He said, 'I think he's going to miss some time. The first question I'm going to get at the press conference in the morning is if I'm going to try to bring you to Miami. What do you want me to tell them?"

A fair question - but for Peyton, who has been enjoying the perks of retirement lately, the answer was simple; he had more important things to do.

"The text message came back from Peyton, 'You tell them I could probably come play, but there's no way I can miss carpool the next two weeks.' So, he was done."

Manning, who went out on top after a win in Super Bowl 50, could probably still contribute in some fashion if a team really needed him, but it looks like the NFL's all-time passing leading is fine with where he is now in retirement.
