The Eagles made a request to the NFL that hasn't been done in almost 30 years

I guess we will find out how it goes next month.

Scheduling might have been made easier for NFL teams making a West Coast trip now that the Chargers and Rams are both in Los Angeles. At least, that's what the Philadelphia Eagles are hoping for when the schedule comes out next month.

The Eagles have made a rather odd, but sensible request to have back-to-back games against those teams when the schedule is released. It makes a lot of sense and would just keep the Eagles in the city for 8 to 10 days rather than having to fly out there twice on separate occasions.

"Looking at the schedule and looking at where we're going, we proposed to stay out on the west coast twice, for two games," said Eagles head coach Doug Pederson at the NFL Owners Meetings in Phoenix Wednesday. "We'll see next month when it comes out if we were able to get that."

A team hasn't gone out west to play twice in a season since the Atlanta Falcons did it in 1988 when they were members of the NFC West. And even that season they didn't go back-to-back so hopefully the NFL doesn't make the same mistake twice. It should be interesting if they accommodate the Washington Redskins the same way as they will play at the Rams and Chargers this season too.
