The Ottawa Senators are hot, red hot and when things are going well people like to share the wealth. The Senators (36-24-11) took down the lowly Toronto Maple Leafs (27-40-6) 5-3 Saturday. The Senators have been on an incredible run and are on the brink of surpassing the Boston Bruins for the final playoff spot in the East. They’ve done so with a hot goalie, timely offense and a little luck.
The Senators find themselves needing all the points they can get so that this incredible run isn’t all for nothing and they are feeling the pressure of a playoff run. During Saturday’s game the Leafs, who have nothing to play for, were proving to be a pesky opponent out playing the Senators while trying to be the spoiler. Ottawa coach Dave Cameron was a little frustrated with his team’s effort and let them have it on the bench.
The Senators would get the message. After Cameron’s rant they would add two goals to put away the Leafs. The Senators didn’t just win Saturday, but their fans did as well.
The Ottawa Senators and McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada announced today that if the Senators win tonight’s 7 p.m. game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, fans will be able to redeem their ticket for a free regular hamburger at participating McDonald’s restaurants in the Ottawa and Gatineau area on Sunday, March 22, 2015.
Tonight’s hamburger promotion is in addition to the “Big Mac® Minute”, which provides fans attending Senators games at Canadian Tire Centre with the opportunity to redeem their ticket for a free Big Mac if the Senators score a goal in the final minute of the third period. If the Senators score in the final minute of the third period and win the game, fans would be able to redeem their ticket for both a hamburger and a Big Mac.
That’s sharing the wealth. Everything is fun in Ottawa right now and Andrew ‘The Hamburglar’ Hammond is the reason for it.
