The Montreal Canadiens (35-15-4) blew a third period lead to the Edmonton Oilers (16-31-9), losing 4-3 in overtime.  The Canadiens appeared to sleepwalk through this game as the Oilers seemed to play with more effort all night.  This speaks to how much better the Habs are talent wise that they still should have won, but they completly folded at the end.

Tomas Plekanec should have sealed the deal with an empty-net goal. However he paused trying to set up a teammate instead, ultimately having his shot blocked. Shortly after, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored his second of the game with less than 30 seconds remaining to send it to OT, where the Oilers would completle the stunning win. Habs coach Michel Therrien was not happy with the result at all.
