One of the best young stars in pro wrestling is now a free agent

This came out of nowhere.

Former TNA champion Magnus won't be sticking around for GFW's takeover of Impact Wrestling, according to a new report from the Wrestling Observer.

Nick "Magnus" Aldis' release from the company is a stunner, as the former WWE champion was one of the original roster members of Jeff Jarrett's promotion back in 2015.

Via WrestleZone:

"According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, former TNA Champion Nick "Magnus" Aldis is already finished with GFW."

"Magnus reportedly turned down GFW's latest contract offer, which is why he is no longer with the company, having only returned a short while back. As for why Magnus was at the last set of Impact TV tapings, he was there under a handshake deal with GFW to protect the 'lineage' of the GFW and to drop it to Alberto El Patron."

Magnus was one of the best, young stars in TNA's Impact Wrestling, but after moving on and competing for GFW since 2015, the former TNA champion has kind of been lost in the shuffle.

Still, in the past, Magnus has shown that he's got not only a main-event look, but that he also can work well enough in the ring as a main-event guy.

It should be noted that Magnus' wife in real life, Mickie James, made her return to WWE not too long ago, and Magnus would be another nice addition to an ever-growing NXT roster.
